The View (the new Epping Forest interpretation centre in Chingford) is next door to Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge and opened 13 July 2012. This visitor centre is the central orientation point for the whole Forest. Our new displays and exhibits showcase some of the main themes, stories and habitats of the forest and point you in the right direction to experience these in the forest itself. The View is designed to appeal to all ages. Both floors are fully accessible via a lift. Don’t miss the fantastic views from the ‘glass box’ and the traditionally built oak gallery to the rear. It has events and activities going on throughout the year and a well stocked gift shop. Free entry
